WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY
With all we juggle in our beautifully chaotic lives, it’s often impossible to know of special days in the year set aside to mark occasions – except for Wine Day – that’s a good one to make note of. Today is one of those days that might not be picked up by the news, but is near to the hearts of female founders, myself included.
It’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, set aside to celebrate founders and raise awareness of how women starting their own businesses, however small or global, is the key to standing on their own two feet.
I’m lucky to know a bit about female entrepreneurs. I am one. My company develops them. I seek advice from them and am inspired by them everyday, not just this day. I cheer this day and hope that one day soon many more join our ranks and find their own path to amazing.
There is an entrepreneur in all of us. Helping other women find their inner badass is a great joy in my life. For the founders of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, the United Nations Foundation and every woman around the globe who benefits from support – whether in the form of a microloan or the support of a good friend – it’s a way of life. I’m glad I chose it – or glad it chose me. I’m not entirely sure which.
